By Exploring a “New Track” in Green Industry, Suntech Boosts the High-quality Development of New Energy Sector in Anhui Province

Mrs. Shuiyun Wang, Chairman of Suntech, as a representative of well-known companies, was invited to attend the conference and was cordially received by Mr. Sanxiong Qian, Vice Governor of the People’s Government of Anhui Province and Head of the New Energy and Energy Conservation and Environmental Protection Industry Promotion Group in Anhui Province.

To bring together empowerment factors and promote industrial development, the conference focused on the fields of science and technology, industry, and institutional innovation, and conducted in-depth discussions on the important topic of “Development of New Energy and Energy Conservation and Environmental Protection Industries”, so as to contribute ideas for promoting ecological environment cooperation and integrated green development in the Yangtze River Delta.

To meet the new requirements for achieving the national strategic goal of “peak carbon emissions and carbon neutrality”, the new energy industry has fully released its potential and entered a stage of rapid development. The People’s Government of Anhui Province attaches great importance to the strategy. Since last year, Anhui has been making the utmost efforts in “attracting investment and recruiting talent”, vigorously developing the “new track” of green industry, and creating new advantages in industrial development.

As a pioneer in the new energy sector, Suntech has been developing and innovating in the PV field. In order to further promote R&D and production, Suntech has cooperated with Fengyang County, Chuzhou City, Anhui Province to invest in and build the Chuzhou Base for Suntech 10 GW (Phase I) PV Modules. The base has introduced brand-new automatic and efficient module production equipment, and plans to produce 210 mm large-size multi-busbar high-power modules compatible with 182 mm multi-busbar cells.

The Suntech Chuzhou Base was officially commenced on February 10, 2022. For various problems encountered in the project construction, leaders at all levels and relevant departments of the CPC Chuzhou Municipal Committee, CPC Fengyang County Committee, and the People’s Government of Fengyang County have provided much care and assistance. They have visited the site of Suntech Chuzhou Base for many times to guide the work and coordinated resources to solve the problems in the project construction. They have also set up a special government project team to ensure the efficient progress of the project on schedule. At present, all the main structures of the project have been completed. The project is in the final completion stage. In 2023, the Suntech Chuzhou Base will realize mass production, with production lines covering all mainstream products and technologies in the industry.

It is time to seize opportunities and rise to challenges. The “14th Five-Year Plan” is a window and critical period for China to achieve peak carbon emissions. Suntech will thoroughly implement the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, contributing to the high-quality development of the new energy sector through the combination of technological innovation and market practice.
