As the global PV industry moves toward a new phase of value-driven growth, module competitiveness is increasingly defined not only by peak power output, but also by lifetime energy yield, reliability, adaptability and lower levelized cost of electricity (LCOE). In this evolving landscape, N-type quarter-cut technology is becoming an important pathway for next-generation PV modules across distributed solar and utility-scale applications.

Ultra T 3.0 represents Suntech’s latest achievement in N-type TOPCon innovation. Built on Suntech’s proprietary TOPCon 3.0 cell technology, the module integrates optimized quarter-cut cell architecture and advanced high-density encapsulation processes to deliver improvements in efficiency, energy generation and long-term reliability.
The product achieves cell conversion efficiency of up to 27.5% and module efficiency exceeding 25.2%, while delivering more than 30W higher output compared with conventional modules of the same format. Its high power density makes Ultra T 3.0 particularly suitable for markets where rooftop availability and land resources are limited.
Beyond efficiency gains, the quarter-cut design enables optimized current transmission, reduced internal resistance losses and improved thermal management. Combined with advanced circuit architecture, edge passivation and enhanced encapsulation technologies, Ultra T 3.0 effectively reduces micro-crack risks, improves shading tolerance and ensures stable energy output under diverse operating conditions.
Designed for global applications, Ultra T 3.0 addresses the differentiated requirements of key overseas markets. In Europe, where distributed residential and commercial PV systems dominate, the module’s excellent low-light performance and ultra-low temperature coefficient of -0.26%/°C enable reliable generation under high-temperature and partial-shading conditions. The full-black design also meets the aesthetic expectations of premium residential solar applications.
In Australia and New Zealand, where PV systems often face challenging environments including coastal salt mist and desert climates, Ultra T 3.0 delivers enhanced durability and weather resistance to support long-term outdoor operation. In Japan, where safety, reliability and lifecycle value are critical, the module offers low degradation performance with first-year degradation of ≤1% and annual linear degradation of 0.35%, backed by a 25-year product warranty and 30-year linear power warranty.
Behind the global deployment of Ultra T 3.0 is Suntech’s vertically integrated manufacturing capability and strong industrial foundation. Through collaboration with HY SOLAR, Suntech has strengthened its integrated PV ecosystem covering advanced manufacturing, technology development and global delivery capabilities.
With continued investment in N-type TOPCon innovation and global market expansion, Suntech will continue providing high-quality PV solutions for diverse applications worldwide, supporting partners and customers in accelerating the transition toward a cleaner and more sustainable energy future.
