On February 19, 2019 local time, The Solar Show MENA opened at the Nile Ritz Carlton hotel in Cairo, Egypt. Suntech participated in the exhibition, and brought advanced products and technical concepts.

The Solar Show MENA focuses on the field of solar energy in North Africa. North African countries are mostly tropical desert climate. It’s dry with little rain all year round. The sun’s radiation ranges from 2,000 to 3,000kWh/㎡per year. With favorable natural conditions and infinite development potential, it is a fertile land for developing solar energy. In 2018, the Middle East and North Africa planned to add 11.86GW of solar energy, the capacity of large-scale solar power generation under operation in the Middle East and North Africa reached 1.36GW. At the same time, Egypt has signed a framework agreement to join the International Solar Alliance. According to the Egyptian minister of power and renewable energy, Egypt aims to generate 20% of its total installed capacity from renewable energy by 2020, and has drawn up a comprehensive development plan to increase new energy, especially solar energy output.

From macroscopic strategy to practical operation, Suntech’s outstanding performance in the Egyptian market is attributed to its cooperation with ACO (Arabic Consulting Office), an Egyptian distributor. As the exclusive distributor of Suntech in Egypt, ACO gradually penetrates into and radiates to surrounding countries and regions on the basis of establishing a foothold in the Egyptian market, to support Suntech’s strategic goal of Global & Local.

In the past year, Suntech gained recognition and support from major customers in Egypt through close cooperation with local distributors. In 2019, Suntech will dig deep into the Egyptian market, make good use of the abundant local solar energy resources, and develop more solar module products that can effectively cope with the tropical desert climate, to serve the Egyptian and surrounding markets with more reliable and efficient technical strength.
