CE Certification
The CE marking or CE mark, is a mandatory conformity mark placed on many products in the single market of the European Economic Area (EEA). The term initially used was "EC Mark" and it was officially replaced by "CE Marking" in the Directive 93/68/EEC in 1993. "CE marking" is the official term for all new EC directives. "CE mark" may also be used but is no longer the official term.
By affixing the CE marking, the manufacturer or authorized representative placing the product on the market or putting it into service, attests that the item meets the essential requirements of the required European Directive(s).
